nadcost

A dose on one price and not the next

A cost per milligram needs two numbers: what the seller charges, and how many milligrams the charge buys. Of the 312 NAD+ prices a reader can actually see on the pages read on September 2026, this site has the first for all of them and the second for 91.

A figure like that is an average over prices, and it says nothing about how the silence is distributed — whether almost every seller publishes nothing, or whether a few large catalogues carry it. Counted over sellers instead, the answer is 72 of the 105 sellers publishing a readable price print a dose beside none of them. Between them those 72 publish 182 figures and not one of them can be divided.

The roster counted by seller instead of by price

Each seller here was counted once, over the prices a reader can actually see. Two exclusions come first and both change the answer. 32 of the 376 figures read are the same price seen on a second surface, and counting those twice would make a catalogue look larger than it is. Another 32 are in a page’s markup and never on its screen — and a dose beside a price nobody sees is not a dose this page can call printed, which is why they are counted on their own page instead. That leaves 312 figures and 105 sellers; the one seller with no readable price at all is silent about the price rather than about the dose, and is not in this census.

How the 105 sellers with a readable price divide on the dose
  1. No price has a dose beside it

72 of 105182 figures, 0 of them dosed

  2. Some prices do, some do not

15 of 10579 figures, 40 of them dosed

  3. Every price has a dose beside it

18 of 10551 figures, 51 of them dosed

Counted by nadcost over the 312 published, deduplicated NAD+ figures read on September 2026, one bucket per seller. The three buckets partition that set exactly and the build stops if they ever stop doing so. A dose means the seller printed one beside the price; it does not mean the line reaches a milligram total, which is a separate question answered on How much NAD+ is in a vial.

The three groups are not the same size in prices as they are in sellers. The 72 silent sellers publish 182 figures between them — the largest single catalogue among them is bmiMD with 12. The 18 that always state a dose publish 51 between them, so the group that is most useful to a reader is also the smallest by volume.

The 15 sellers that do both

These 15 publish 79 figures — 25 per cent of everything a reader can see here — and 39 of them have no dose. That is the part of the 221 that cannot be explained by a seller who simply never publishes doses, because this seller does.

The 15 sellers that print a dose beside some prices and not others

Counted by nadcost from the sellers’ own pages read on September 2026, over deduplicated figures. “Dosed” means the seller printed a dose beside that price; it carries no judgement about whether the line reaches a milligram total. Sorted by catalogue size.

HealthOn is the largest of them at 10 figures, 8 of them dosed. A reader working through that catalogue meets both kinds of price on the way, which is what makes the pattern visible at all: it is not that the dose is unavailable, it is that it is beside one number and not the next.

The same page, one price with a dose and another without

The strongest version of this is a single page carrying both. On 8 source pages, from 8 sellers, at least one price prints a dose beside it and at least one does not. Below is every one of the 14 prices on those pages that has no dose, with the seller’s own qualifying sentence, and beside it a dose line printed on the same page.

The sellers’ own words, quoted from the pages read on September 2026. The price and its qualifying sentence are the seller’s; the pairing is ours. Every qualifying sentence here contains the amount exactly as the figure column spells it.

What a missing dose does to the arithmetic

Everything else this site refuses is a refusal with a reason attached. A “from” price is refused because the milligrams attach to a number nobody is necessarily charged. A strength with no volume is refused because the multiplication has a hole in it. Those are on the refusal ledger, all 55 of them, and each one had to be read and ruled on.

A price with no dose never gets that far. It is not refused under a clause; it never enters the pool, because there is nothing to divide by. That is why 73 figures could be ruled on out of 344 read, and why the 72 silent sellers appear nowhere in the ruling at all.
