nadcost

The prices we never ruled on

This site publishes the same four numbers on almost every page it has. 344 distinct NAD+ figures were read. 111 of them state a dose. 73 were ruled on by hand, one at a time. 18 could actually be divided into a cost per milligram.

Read that list downwards and the second step does not follow from the first. 111 figures state a dose and 73 were ruled on, so 38 of them were never ruled on at all — and until this page, nothing here said where they went. This is the accounting.

Where the funnel loses 38 figures

The board’s candidate pool is built from three conditions, and only one of them is about the dose. A figure is ruled on if it states a dose, if a reader can actually see it on the seller’s page, and if the seller’s page says what sort of number it is. The 38 below state a dose and fail one of the other two.

Ruled on
73 figures reached a hand ruling — 18 admitted, 55 refused under a named clause
Not shown to a reader
20 stopped before any ruling — the figure is in the page’s markup and never appears on screen, so no reader meets it and this site will not quote it as a price
No kind could be decided
18 stopped before any ruling — the seller’s page does not say what sort of number it is — a standing rate, a “from”, a first month, a prepay total or a one-off — and without that the figure cannot be compared with anything

Computed by nadcost from the 344 deduplicated figures read on September 2026. The three bands sum to 111 exactly and the build stops if they ever stop doing so — the arithmetic of this page is the page. The 18 rows on the board and the 55 refusals on the ledger together make up the 73 that were ruled on.

The two gates, and the one figure that fails both

A figure can fail both gates at once, and one of these does: it is in the markup only and its kind could not be decided either. So the gates are applied in a fixed order and the first one that applies is the one recorded. Publication comes first, because a figure no reader can see raises no question about what kind of number it is.

1. Not shown to a reader
the figure is in the page’s markup and never appears on screen, so no reader meets it and this site will not quote it as a price. 20 figures, 6 sellers.
2. No kind could be decided
the seller’s page does not say what sort of number it is — a standing rate, a “from”, a first month, a prepay total or a one-off — and without that the figure cannot be compared with anything. 18 figures, 10 sellers.

1 of the 38 fail both, and it is counted under the first gate only. Counting it twice would make 20 and 18 add to more than 38, which is the kind of arithmetic a reader checks by hand and this site should not have to explain afterwards.

The 20 nobody can see

20 of the 38 are figures a reader never meets. The number is in the page’s markup — in a template, a data attribute, a block that never renders — and it does not appear on screen. Presence is not publication, so this site records the figure and refuses to quote it as a price or divide it.

They are not evenly spread. 6 sellers carry all 20, and TeleZen MD alone accounts for 12 of them. A reader told only the total would assume a pattern across the market; it is closer to one catalogue.

Read from the sellers’ own pages on September 2026. The dose column is the seller’s own dose line, byte for byte. “Reaches a total” is lib/doseShapes.ts’s hand ruling on the shape of that line — nothing here parses a dose string — and it says whether a milligram total could be got out of the line alone, not whether the price could be divided. Every amount in this table is a figure no reader sees, and it is printed here as a record of what was in the markup rather than as a price.

The 5 where only the publication rule is in the way

On 5 of these, from 2 sellers, everything the arithmetic needs is present. The dose line is a shape a milligram total comes out of. The kind is decided, so the figure is a definite sort of number. Nothing about the sum is in doubt. They are excluded because the price is not on the page a reader opens.

That is a rule this site chose and it costs something, so it is worth stating what it costs: 5 figures out of 344. The alternative is to publish a per-milligram figure derived from a number the seller does not show anyone, attributed to that seller, which nobody could check by opening the page — and a figure nobody can check is the thing this site exists to be an alternative to.
