Where the money comes from, what it moves, and what it does not.
How this site is paid
Follow a link from this site to a seller, sign up or buy, and we may be paid a commission. You pay nothing extra for it. The commission comes off the seller’s side, and what you are charged at their checkout is what you would have been charged arriving cold. That money is what funds the work: reading each price by hand off the seller’s own page, dividing it by the milligrams the plan actually delivers, and keeping the calculator free to use. We would rather say that at the top than bury it.
The honest part about commercial relationships
We have affiliate partnerships with many, but not all, of the sellers listed here. Like most comparison sites, this compensation may impact the location and visibility of certain sellers, and it is worth being specific about where. In the seller index partners are listed first, each marked “Verified partner”, and the rest follow alphabetically. The card at the top of the side rail, the offer cards above the lowest-cost board, and the box that can open when you follow a link to a seller that pays us nothing, all show partners only. Sellers we earn nothing from are listed throughout and are not hidden, but they are not promoted either.
The arithmetic is independent. Placement is not always.
Cost per milligram is a division, and it is performed the same way over every seller on the site. The lowest-cost board, the route boards and the ranked scale on the home page are ordered by that division and by nothing else, so a partner sits wherever the arithmetic puts it, and that position is not for sale. What payment moves is order, on the surfaces named above, which is why they are named rather than denied.
What does not change
- Not the figure. A price is read off the seller’s own published page and printed the way the seller prints it. No commission raises it or lowers it.
- Not the qualifier. A figure carries its billing cycle, its plan term or its “starting at” wherever it appears, whoever is paying us.
- Not the reading date. Every price carries the day a person read it, and a commercial relationship does not move that day forward.
- Not the write-up. No partner sees a page before it runs, and none can edit, approve or veto a conclusion. If a relationship ever pulled against the reader, the relationship loses.
- Not who is listed. A seller cannot buy its way onto a board, and declining a commercial relationship does not remove a row or soften a word written about it.
- Not the wording. No sponsored posts, no paid links inside article text, and no copy written or approved by the company it describes.
Where there is no paid link at all
Nothing under /tools/ is for sale. The calculators carry no link to a seller of any kind, paid or unpaid, and a build check walks their imports and refuses to build the site if one ever becomes reachable from them. The legal and policy pages carry none either.
Outbound links
Every link to a seller, paid or not, leaves this site through a /go/ redirect on our own domain, so a click can be counted by page and by position. That redirect is closed to search crawlers. A link to a seller we have a commercial relationship with carries a tracking identifier; a link to one we do not carries none, because there is nothing to attribute.
Where the disclosure sits
Beside the link, every time, rather than once at the foot of the page. A paid link carries a small “Verified partner” badge directly above the button it is disclosing, at every position on a ranked list rather than only beside the winner. An unpaid link carries no badge, because there is no relationship to declare, and nothing else about it differs: same shell, same border, same size, same words, same button in the same slot.
If something here is wrong
Mistakes are fixed in public and logged, with what was wrong and when it changed, on the corrections page. A figure a company sends us by email is a reason to go and read its page again, not a figure to publish.
